View Full Version : Uninstalling applications on Android 5.0.2
Hi, this is a total pain, I can't seem to find a way of uninstalling apps on Android 5.0.5, I think it is lollipop. There are a number of apps that keep popping up such as "wish".
In settings/applications there is only a dozen or so apps shown yet the desktop shows 50 or more.
Does anyone have any idea what to do?:hmmm:
Thanks.

Probably asking the obvious, but: you are sure these are no apps that the cellphone producer/brand does not enforce to be present? Many brands ship their android-loaded smartphones with tons of such bloatware. If you talk about these kind of apps, you cannot uninstall them without rooting the device. You can uninstall, but it will automatically reinstall again all the time.
The EU commission has started to move in one of its smarter moves on this, trying to force Google to abandon the enforced packing of Android with such bloatware packages and other Google-software.
No we've had this tablet for a few years and only recently started with these popups. I did find an app that didn't exist before called "Telstra", funny that we didn't install it. We have uninstalled it and it seems to have stopped.
Telstra is the local ISP, we've been having some issues with them.
Hopefully the problem is solved, seems that all the apps listed can be uninstalled it's just these others.
