View Full Version : How to make Silent hunter III look better (for Nvidia graphic cards)
Hello i have created a small tutorial video how to install nvidia inspector and how to load up the best graphical profile(which is made by Fubar2niner for Silent hunter III. This can somewhat effect the performance. All of the files are included in the description.
Enjoy.

I know for some reason it doesin't fix the non shining sun in periscope but it does fix it on ext camera and etc.

:hmmm:
Strange you still have the flat sun in second periscope view...it should be like the second external view.
So has anyone tried it yet?

Can you post the list of options that this profile make?
I've looked into it, and they have essentially the same AA settings as in my configuration (and similar result). But the sun looks amazing -- I want this!
My sun looks like in your periscope view.
But I little bit paranoid about "Download this. Then download that. Then run this with that. Don't ask, it's just works, it's magic!"

Works like a charm.
Sometimes the sun disk is small, but it depends on the viewing angle at that time. Otherwise its quite large indeed

Tried the settings. They make my game lag. I have a modern computer, so it is not a performance issue, probably drivers.
But I get very similar visuals just forcing AA at 4x. Greater values kills the sun. And like in the original post, in periscope view I have sun only as a disc. But not lags -- probably game uses different rendering in periscope view.
Humm that's weird. If you have good computer you shouldint lag. Ask fubar2niner about these settings. I didn't created the profile.

You can try by going to nvidia control panel and resetting settings for sh3. And try installing the profile again. And if doesint work. Just try to setn AA to X2

I already reverted to my settings -- it looks very close to yours screenshots and I'm not that dependent on graphics

Hello Niume.
I shall like but I don't understand very well spoken English.
I see how to do but where can i find the profiles SH3profile.nip that you indicate in the video?

Niume,
Thanks for posting your video. I tried the Nvidia Profile Inspector with the SH3 profile you recommended and found it to be an improvement to the original graphics. So far I have not run into any problems. Again thanks!

NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB
Tried both SH3 profile.nip and Silent Hunter III.nip provided in your mediafire page with NVIDIA Inspector 1.9.7.3 no luck still tiny golf ball sun without any halo...
Try resetting the nvidia control panel settings first then try the nvidia inspector. The sun appears golf ball to me too but only then it's covered by clouds. In clear sky it's shining just as it should. Next time post a screenshot.

Fixed it by using Nvidia Inspector to set Antialiasing Compatibility to 0x004412C1 :Kaleun_Cheers:

I also have the golf ball sun. I tried several settings, also these nip files, nothing worked, except the Bluewater Sunfix for LSH, although I'm playing WAC.
I still have Nvidia inspector trouble as well as control panel program parameters, not taking my settings into account...
Only thing that work fine, is when i set GLOBAL PARAMETERS to my liking :yep:
——> Gamma correction OFF, override any AA settings, AA set to X4, DSR set to 4,00x (native resolution), DSR smooth set to 33%, Anisotropic set to X8, LOD negative set to clamp, texture filtering set to high quality.
In Inspector, i have set antialiasing compatibility for Diablo III also (it’s the only thing inspector seems to take into account)
If those settings applied in GLOBAL PARAMETERS, SH3 is perfect here.
Very good AA, perfect sun etc...
You can have a look at my screen shot in SH3/SH4/SH5 forum section to see by yourself.
I still don’t understand why my inspector doesn’t take care of my settings for SH3/SH4/SH5, nor the control panel program parameters...
Maybe because it’s brand new rig with very latest drivers :hmmm:... but it was working fine on my old PC...and everything is installed like the old one.
Hope that helps people with same trouble :salute:

Just reinstalled and was suffering the tiny wee sun. Found by accident that if you hold Shift + PageUp for about ten seconds it grows it back to normal.
Cheers.
EDIT: Agh, actually no, everything has a weird wobbly filter on it now.
