Very interesting and what a huge sum... if indeed it's there in the hold. We studied the Russo-Japanese War at school... a lot of people have never even heard about it.

Could have been more complicated if she was lying off the North Korean coastline but they probably wouldn't have the technology to recover the $130 billion.

Did they confirm it there is gold inside the vessel?

Gentlemen, who cares for the gold? Best outcome of this finding isthat they’ve found a memorable ship whose crew fought their last battle as a lions - performing quite well against a hoplessly outnumbering enemies. Donskoy’s crew managed to sneak through Japanese cruisers and destroyers on a severely damaged ship after all! They even damaged Naniwa and Otawa. Were the Donskoy’s machines able to produce any speed, the ship could survive. They weren’t however. Anyway, of all 1-rate ships of 2-nd Pacific Squadron she approached closest to Vladivostok.
The only possible mentioning of the gold I could welcome concerning this story - unfortunate reality is that without the rumors of gold barely someone would start an expedition to a 1905 Russian cruiser or other glorious ships fallen at Tsusima.
