New Install of SH4 - What should I do now?

Hi folks.

I just downloaded SH4 from Amazon and installed it in a Windows 10 machine.
Can you please give me suggestions on what to do next (patches and mods to install) so the game plays well?

I have read that many patches and mods have been made to the original game to fix some errors and increase the quality of play.
I need to know what to do to be up-to-speed.

I am grateful and really appreciate you taking the time to help me out.

Hi,
First install your sh4 other place than program or program files x86 … create a new folder on you C drive and put your sh4 into. This way you will be able to download Large Adress Aware (LAA) to boost your sh4 ram above 2Gb.
Don’t forget to save stock game files on external disc, this way you will be able to back up clean files in case of trouble…

Install jsgme into your sh4 folder to be able to mod it.

Go to Theberster thread to have a look for all nice mega mods :salute:

Hopefully you downloaded the Gold Edition (SH4 plus the U-Boat Missions). This is the latest version of the game at v1.5. If you have you're good to go. No other patches are needed. So which version of the game did you download? :D :up:

I did originally install the game in a different folder that I created in the C drive.
I am totally new at this and have a lot of catching up to do.
Can you please give me more detail about how to download (LAA), and install jsgme? Where do I get them?
