Hi,

Just wondering what is the most up to date graphics and expansive German submarine mod? I've been looking at Operation Monsun and Environmental & Graphics Upgrade. Is this the best German submarine mod? It's a bit bewildering trying to figure out mod compatibility...

Yes, I'd say Operation Monsun is by far the best for German play in SH4. Most of us don't give "two hoots" for the German side of play, so OM with its five different mods are the best you'll get. :D

Thanks for the reply CapnScurvy. I haven't played Silent Hunter 3 or 4 for that matter in years and found SH3 hard to get into all those years ago. I got more time on my hands now...

SH3 with the GWX mod would be your best bet for a German campaign in my opinion. The focus of SH4 was primarily on the US Fleet Boats in the Pacific, and as such most of the mods and work are geared towards that.

KSD II has recently been released which is made on SH4.

ETR3(SS): I've got a mod set for SH3 with GWX as its core mod. It's good but wanted the GFX of SH4.

SnipersHunter: I downloaded KSD II and installed it but got a CTD as startup every time.

meant to ask you: what is your system config?


i am d/l KSDII, even as we speak, and will be trying either that or the new release of FOTRS next. so if you have problems i'd like to know what to expect.
