San Francisco passes ban on flavored tobacco; education parcel tax wins

An annual $298 parcel tax to fund higher teacher salaries in San Francisco, a measure aimed at attracting and retaining educators in the high cost-of-living city, passed Tuesday night.

Sponsored by the United Educators of San Francisco union, the measure — Proposition G — will collect an estimated $50 million a year to boost teacher pay, add staffing at high-needs schools and improve technology in the San Francisco Unified School District. The new tax would run for 20 years.

San Francisco has passed a ban on the sale of flavored tobacco, including menthol cigarettes. The law is an attempt to curb smoking rates in the city by making it less appealing to young people. The City Council also approved a new buy cheap dissertation (https://www.dissertation-service.org/buy-dissertations/) education parcel tax that will generate $19 million annually for public schools and libraries.

Let me guess. 100% of the money generated by this tax goes to the general fund with no guarantee any of it is spent for the pupose it was candy coated for sale with.
