An FBI agent is under investigation after he accidentally discharged his firearm as he performed a backflip at a Denver nightclub.

The off-duty agent was dancing when the handgun fell from his waistband holster. It fired as he went to pick it up, wounding another customer in the leg.

The man, who was not badly injured, was taken to a local hospital, a Denver police spokesman said.

Irresponsible, now he will probably be responsible for the development of danger.

Unfortunately, implementing justice isn't one of them. :03:

To me, one of the important factors is whether he was under the influence of alcohol/drugs at this time.

It has not been reported whether his BAC was determined. That will have considerable influence on any charges.

I fear that because he was an FBI agent that his BAC was not determined. That would be a travesty.

In movies we often see the FBI turn up at an incident, tell the local lawmen they're no longer in charge, then proceed to exert some kind of martial law over everybody, under which they can do just as they please to whover they please... including the cops. Is it really like this or is this just moviemakers' paranoia? Platapus' post just made me think, is all

What would have happened if an ordinary citizen, licensed to carry a concealed weapon, did exactly what this agent did?

I somehow doubt the citizen would be going home that evening.
