Storm Alberto: Florida, Alabama, Mississippi declare states of emergency

(Reuters) - Florida, Alabama and Mississippi declared states of emergency on Saturday as Subtropical Storm Alberto drove north toward the U.S. Gulf Coast, threatening to bring heavy rainfall and flooding to the coastal states by Monday.The first named Atlantic storm of 2018 is expected to intensify and bring wind speeds of up to 65 miles per hour (40 km/h) to the northern Gulf Coast when it approaches on the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, the National Weather Service (NWS) said in its latest advisory.

Just read a great story in Reader's Digest about the Cajun Navy and an app called Zello that a woman and others used to coordinate rescues for people after Hurricane Harvey. Seems like mainstream media has so many people working to assassinate Trump that they can't be bothered to cover this storm. I guess they have their priorities. It is a holiday weekend after all, and it can be exhausting inventing the news so a bit of rest is surely welcomed. :D
