View Full Version : Electro motor sound too loud?
Hello, i have some question to the sound when i running in electro mode.
When i'm submerged and i go very slow, the electro motor make a lot of noise. I can use the hydrophone, but it's very difficult with the back sound.
My first question is if it's realistic?
And my second, why in SH3 we don't have this issue?
Thanks for your answers :D

Yes. You should stop your engines when on hydro because the ocean has a decibel and the hydro is a giant microphone.
ok, thanks i do this already.
My question is why in SH3 the hydro opérator is effective since the electro engine work?
It was a mistake, or it's the reality?

Because they were trained... actually went to school to train their ears to hear these sounds amongst the white noise of the E motors.
While the computer hydro operator can hear these sounds while moving, the simulator makes it hard for us, human operators, to hear these sounds like the real hydro operators, when we use this machine.

I have what may be a similar problem. When submerged, and in the control room, the sound of the electric motors seems as loud as the diesels on the surface. I haven't figured out how to operate the controls of the "sonar" so I haven't been able to tell if my problem is identical.
