Best way to get SH5?

Amazon download works well. It's the full non-steam version.

I do use steam. But not “owning” the game is a bit odd for me. I prefer getting the disc.

You can buy it straight from Ubisoft through their Uplay browser/launcher application . This holds for sh3 and 4 and most any ubisoft game ..
You will have to have this account in any case , before it's over with so might as well keep it simple , ..
fastest most secure method .

I remember this being a sore point when the game first launched along with the DRM stuff , crippled it because many wanted to play offline exclusively ..
many of the conditions people freaked out about then we just take in stride now ..
I dont know if you could launch box version from an offline pc , ive never tried ..
