Next week, France will hand over 3,000 sq m (9,942 sq ft) of its territory to Spain without a single shot being fired. But in six months' time Spain will voluntarily hand back the land to France. As Chris Bockman reports, it's been that way for more than 350 years.

Never heard of this but now I'm wondering if there are further examples around the world.

Saw that article the yesterday on the Beeb...
I know it's just tradition, and since the mayors of the towns are the ones in charge of it, I wonder if one mayor would say "No, I'm keeping it!" and the other looks at the budget savings, and just says "sure, go ahead".
That and since it's eroding away, not much sense in someone really keeping it.
But very cool thing over all. I know there's parts of the US that should be part of canada, but they don't switch. One town in Wisconsin (?) you have to cross into Canada and back to get anywhere else int he US. Going to school IIRC requires twice daily border crossings.

I heard this story on the car radio while I waited outside "Pets At Home" last weekend (Moira was in there getting some ointment for the guinea pig's bum)

Also the longest war in history was between the Netherlands and Scilly isles only having the peace treaty signed in 1986 not a single shot fired or life lost in 335 years of war
