LSH3 & Steam loading issues

Racking my brains to get LSH3 mod working on stock sh3 steam download.
Placed steam library out of program files (x86) into program files. Took all spaces of Silent Hunter 3 and installed LSH3 mod. Activated full mod. Received intro to game. Selected flotilla, started mission, end of loading crashed to desktop. Removed mod and was able to start Stock version. Can't find exe. file in steam download (proprietary?) LSH3 mod looking for exe. file but cannot find. Thinking about getting game from Amazon and leaving Steam out of the picture. Download or disc from Amazon? Any thoughts on what would be best?

Here's what worked for me:


Install game via steam
Open C:\...\steam\common (where Silent Hunter 3 directory is located)
Zip Silent Hunter 3 (the game directory) using 7 zip or similar
Copy Silent Hunter 3.zip and paste to, say, C:\Games
Unzip Silent Hunter 3.zip and rename the output directory to, say, LSH3
Download Multi SH3 and use according to its manual
Test installation of SH3
Proceed with LSH3 installation

Followed the "The Steam Installation Instructions For LSH3-2015" but did not get a desktop shortcut to start game. How do I start the game at this point? I did rename the Folder Silent Hunter 3 with spaces after I received the message that LSH3 has been successfully installed.

The steam installation should have created a directory under the following path

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Silent Hunter 3

Open it by pasting this path into Windows Explorer (Win + E). In there you will find sh3.exe, which is the game's executable file.

I’m not that good with comp. so excuse me if I ask how do you bring up windows explorer (win + E)?

Followed tutorial instructions exactly and received this error message during setup. Any suggestions?

Did you see where the error took place?
What path are you installing to?
You cannot have for example Silent Hunter III it would need to be SilentHunterIII no gaps an easy mistake to make.

Install SH III + 4 giga patch then copy the SH III folder on your desktop.

Install LSH inside your SH III file from your desktop.

Install finish ? -___-

Re place the SH III file where it should be.

Done ..........

The windows key is usually on the lowest row on your keyboard with the windows symbol printed on it. Press this key followed by the 'E' key.

I have the stock game downloaded and installed as follow;
C\SHIII\Silent Hunter III (download). It runs. Would you advise changing the path now to C\SHIII\SilentHunterIII and then proceeding again with the tutorial for LSH3 installation?
One more question, I have downloaded LSH3 Previously for my failed attempts. Should I download a fresh file or go ahead with what I have?

Your problem as I showed in my post is that your installation path cannot have any gaps in it.
The LSH3 install cannot find your SH3.exe.

You already have downloaded a zip file with LSH3 files in it.
Use a fresh set of files from the download to carry out your install.
Use my LSH3 tutorial to guide you through the installation processes.
