I had a dream the other night. Unlike any other I've ever had before in fact I rarely remember them but this one was freaking trippy. I was in space, not in a suit or life support nor was I floating weightless in it. Its hard to explain but I felt as though I was a part of it. I had no difficulty in thinking I could go anywhere I wanted too nothing was so far away. I sensed my body, I could feel my arms and legs but I couldn't see them. I knew the names of everything I surveyed, galaxies, nebula, clusters, stars and I was with excitement telling somebody their names as I pointed them out with fingers I didn't have. It was all in such vivid color too. The whole dream experience was quite euphoric.
When I woke up that morning I was on cloud nine, it seemed so real I wished I could back. I've been thinking about this one for several days now.
Anyway that's all I got to say about that. :D
You were thinking of God, or thinking you were!! :hmmm::oops:
Sounds awesome!
I frequently have very vivid dreams and I almost always remember most of what occurs in them. Unfortunately, they're usually so bizarre and nonsensical that if I told you about them, I fear you might try and have me committed. :o
They do seem to entertain my co-workers, though.

Keep it as your precious. People with near-death-experiences often say they benefit from them for the rest of their lives since then. Such dreams as you described one are very rare, but once or twice in a life somebody has them. Floating/flying/levitating often is part of the experience, also perceived all-knowledge. I do not know whether there is more in them than just being dreams, but I know that I hope they point at something that is beyond our usual horizon of life and empirical knowledge alone. I do not believe in deities, but I hope there is something in it all that sometimes gets called the devine sparkle inside everything, or as Buddhist would say: everything has Buddha-nature. And who knows, maybe, if we are lucky, it sometimes steps behind us and tips us on our shoulder, with an unbelievably light touch.
Almost half my life ago I had such an overwhelming dream myself, too. It is beyond description, the experience was intense and words cannot catch it, the focus point was the experience of me not moving inside the unmoving universe, but myself being the unmoved fixpoint and all universe moving around me instead. I never could forgot it. I gained quite some courage from it, too.
We cannot say whether it is just a dream, or something else, because in the end we do not know whether man is just man, a life bound to flesh and bones and neural activity and thats it, or whether we are expression of something that is bigger than just our individual self.
But these metaphysical speculations - thats what they necessarily always will be - do not change the fact that we nevertheless must live our lives in a comparable way like a quantum physicist plays pool nevertheless according to the laws of Newtonian physics.

Interesting dream ... thank you for sharing. A spirit, meaning someone of a higher intelligence than you, was in your head or heart that night and gave you a glimpse of the future of what it is like after death.
What did you do for an hour before you went to bed and what did you eat that night?

I was about to ask some trite question like "Were there any squirrels in it" when I read Sybird's very poetic post... it seems like you guys had a very similar experience, and one to be envied.

I recently dreamed ( very vivid ) that I played Rugby League for Eastern Suburbs ( Roosters/Chooks ) here in Australia. Big crowd. Just as the game was about to begin I woke up.
Very strange, 'cause I don't support them.
No funny foods etc before sleep.

Don't take dreams so lightly.
Many things I did for sh3/4/5 came from dreams.
You could say it was my mind working as I slept and I'd agree to a limit.
I've dreamed of the same house for years now.
But each dream the house grows or opens up in some new way.
Parts that I was afraid of at first are no longer a place of fear and even became friendly and comfortable in those dreams.
Some would say that is just a reflection on my waking life and how I feel in it.
That may be true to some extent I guess.
But why do I dream of the exact same house over and over when dreams are supposed to be random?

I remember not long after my father died I saw him in a "dream". My reaction? I was euphoric, and when I woke up it was like a wave of calmness swept over me and gave me peace.
It was beautiful.
Reality? Or the Subconscious working through something?
Once when I was in the hospital I dreamed I could fly - but only on my back. I could float down the halls but only on my back and if I could get outside, I could fly around above the city (on my back).
When I returned to my bed I found I could lie down on the wall above my bed and see myself sleeping.
I was on some serious medications at the time and had a near death experience - they brought me back.
That's all I got ....... lol

Last night I had a really weird dream where most of you was in it.
We had a subsim meeting and instead of talking uboats and similar we was swapping tv-channels
In this dream
I asked if any of you had the BBE Gaelic
And another member asked for a
tug and tow channel
I have tried to analyze why I had dreamed this funny and weird dream.

Lucid dreaming is better because you always know the difference between reality and the dream. In otherwords you are always aware its just a dream.
Whereas with say, yellow sunshine. You can loose that awarness which can sometimes lead to a really bad trip and find yourself looking for hidden monsters on facebook.
Anyway, thats what I heard.

Yesterday a facebook friend reminded me how our mouths seem to be paralysed when we're dreaming
So last night I dreamed I came upon some burglars on our drive in the dead of night. In the dream I bravely shouted "Hello!!... What have you got there?"
I knew I must've cried out in my sleep for I woke Moira, so I asked her what I'd just said. She told me I said "UUNH-UNH!!...UUHN-UN-UN UUHN-UUHN?"

Just ask my wife. I still get nightmares/terrors from time to time. Most of the time she manages to calm me down before I go into full blown panic screaming in my sleep due to the nightmares/terrors.
The worst dreams I've had were when I was taking Champix to get off smoking. The most vivid dreams of my life and 90% of them were nightmares. Worst 3 weeks sleep of my life and that's including the lack of sleep I now live on due to an 11 month old baby

I wonder if what we eat before we go to bed has anything to do with dreams?
Seriously ... perhaps even alcohol or marijuana for sure would alter your state of mind while you sleep.
I spend a lot of time in bed and I don't remember most dreams due to having to get up and go to the bathroom which interrupts the sound sleep part. Most of the dreams I do remember are those early in the morning twilight dreams
.https://www.quora.com/Do-early-morning-dreams-come-true-1
Yes, some early morning dreams can come true and the best way to know if they do is to keep a dream journal beside your bed.
Early morning dreams are the easiest to remember because you are coming up from the REM (Rapid Eye Movement) level of sleep through the Theta Level. The Theta Level is often used for healing.
How will you know if your dreams come true if you don't have a way of going back to see what the dreams were or what the validation was in your waking world.
Precognitive dreams are:
dreams that come true
dreams that show you a bit of the future
validated in the waking present world

Moira told me this morning about a dream she had last night. In it we were still living at home with our parents (just before we got married, I guess) and my mum came to her in an agitated state with a note she'd just been given by a policeman at her door.
The note was intended for me and was written by someone named Paul Walters. It said: "It will end in death by axe"
Nice.... thanks, Moira

The old joke:
A man visiting a cemetery to visit a loved ond's grave is on his way out when he notices a woman placing flowers at a series of consecutive graves. Curious, he approaches the mourning woman.
"Excuse me, Ma'am; I couldn't help but notice you tending to this group of graves. Was there a tragic family accident?"
"No, these are the graves of my five late husbands."
"Oh, that must have been very trying for you, to have lost so many spouses. "How did the first one pass on?"
"He died from eating poisonous mushrooms."
"How very sad. And the second spouse?"
"He died from eating poisonous mushrooms."
"The third?"
"He died from eating poisonous mushrooms."
"The fourth?"
"He died from eating poisonous mushrooms."
"Let me guess: the fifth died from eating poisonous mushrooms."
"No he died from a skull fracture."
"Well, that's unusual. How did he get the skull fracture?"
"He wouldn't eat the poisonous mushrooms...."

Fun-gal.
I once had a job where the firm took out a very high insurance policy on me with an include very good payoff to my then beneficiary in the event of my demise (standard practice for personnel considered to be at an 'executive' level). I told my then beloved about the policy and how she was the beneficiary and she was a bit horrified about the whole idea considering it to be a morbid subject. I told her to cheer up and just think of how, if anything happened, she would be able to take her long dreamed of trip to Paris, which further horrified her...
However, whenever she would get particularly peeved at me (which was often), she would end her argument(s) by softly sighing and saying "Ah, Paris..."...
I miss that woman...

Moira and I were just talking about dreams where we sometimes wake up feeling really angry because of something the other party had just done in a dream. She's woken up fuming with me yet all the while I'd been asleep and completely innocent; she said she's even got up seething even though she knew it was just a dream
Also, she reminded me that the other night I woke her when I lashed out with my arm... I'd been dreaming that I was in a dark corridor, behind a curtain, waiting for a German sentry to pass, at which point I intended grabbing him (one of those dreams where it's not clear whether you're in a video game or the real war). As he came level I grabbed, then woke up as my knuckles hit the bedroom door
I had a friend once who woke up with his hands around his wife's throat. They moved to separate beds after that

I'm always dreaming and more often than not they include content that angers and frustrates me. They often consist of losing my wife whilst out shopping or in a pub or a party.
The other night I had a different kind of dream, I was Santa and at the end of the night I had to pay for every present I'd put under different peoples trees. No change there then

Last night I dreamed I was trying to wrestle a shotgun from a woman who was going to shoot her husband as he sat in his car with his mistress.
Moira called out "stop pushing on me... you woke me up!" as I grappled with her in the bed.
I'm going to get sent to the spare room at this rate

I remember not long after my father died I saw him in a "dream". My reaction? I was euphoric, and when I woke up it was like a wave of calmness swept over me and gave me peace.
It was beautiful.
Reality? Or the Subconscious working through something?
I dreamed the other night that I was in a building with many doors and floors helping my mother look for her door. At some point she became too weak, and I had to carry her as we searched. As we were searching we came across my father who was also looking for his door. That's all I remember, but I hope I got them both in the same door, and they're "Together Forever" as it should now read on the back of their gravestone if the carving has been completed. :salute: Goodbye mom and dad, love always.

A story from me....On the day of my girlfriend's funeral ( we were VERY close ), and still to the present day, ( this is hard to explain - but it's as if people on the "other side" are looking after me. ), good things happen to me. Little things, but significant. Time after time.
One incident in particular stands out.
I was in Hawaii a couple of years ago, I needed to do something important. No one could help me or knew how to. By "accident" a travel agent asked if he could
help. He sure could, he was a godsend, and we got to talking and it turned out he was a distant relative of my late girlfriend. We were both gobsmacked. You had to be there, as they say.
Not a Dream story but more an Afterlife one.

I had a dream once that I stole the U-505 and put it in what I assume to be like a clearing behind my grandparent's home.
The thing I remember most from the dream was a police officer looking at the gigantic hull of the U-505 with a shocked expression.
It looked a lot like this photo:

You have what I would call normal dreams, which mine ain't, well some of them.

I figured out what dreams really are.
When you go to sleep your mind allows you to cross parallel universes and time.
So you, in fact, are living a different life of yourself. Only some where else in time and space!
Once you wake up the connection is broken so you quickly forget what you thought was a dream.
Now. While your sleeping. Does another 'you' visit your mind?
:hmmm:
Should be included in an up coming Aliens episode.
:haha:

I came out of my body as if I were shot out of a cannon. Flying straight up into the sky which transitioned into another world with lots of geometrical and kailascopic designs everywhere. There I saw a dozen dancing gnomes which looked just like the one on that travelocity commercial but much more animated, happier and all being goofy. They kept asking me if I wanted to stay. I wanted too but I had to go back and make breakfast. I like omelets with salsa.

That sounds almost identical to a description of a DMT (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N,N-Dimethyltryptamine) trip I once heard on an audio cassette recording of a lecture given by Terence McKenna (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terence_McKenna).
They say DMT is produced naturally in the human brain, so I guess that's normal.

I thought absinthe was banned in Northhumbria!:03::k_confused:Belgium banned absinthe in 1905, followed by Switzerland (1908), Holland (1910), the U.S. (1912) and finally France in 1915. Spain was the only European country that kept the spirit legal. The ban on absinthe, and all things wormwood, lasted for decades.

Anyone here talk in their sleep?
Moira's started talking loudly in her sleep... started a few weeks ago. I used to get a rest from it at night, but now....
It's never been anything I should worry about (so far)... like last night she was yelling about a trellis in the garden
Anyone here talk in their sleep?
Recently I was dreaming that I was in some sort of cave/office (you know how dreams are). The only light was dim and seemed to come from above and behind me. I saw a person walking from the far side of the cave toward one of the office doors. Being the jerk that I am and 'knowing' this person could not see me, I decided to scare him. I ran toward the person and when I got near I jumped into the air and yelled as loud as I could.
So loud, in fact, that I woke myself up. I was actually yelling. But as I awoke I heard what sounded nothing at all like the sound I was making in my dream. It was ... creepy. My wife (who was already awake) immediately asked me if I was okay in a worried tone. I laughed and said "Yes. It was a dream."
This happened to me once before, years ago.

I still have one bad dream to this day that wakes me in terror and sweat: I'm sleeping in the sleeper of my 18-wheeler(lived 3 years in one) and I sense the truck is rolling-brakes unset-and I cannot open the heavy vinyl curtain to reach the wheel or airbrake button in time. Obviously a latent case of PTBS!:k_confused: https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showpost.php?p=2199726&postcount=44

Are you also naked in this dream? I think we should have another squirrel thread, in which you guys are ushered into my cosy study by Moira and sat down in a comfy armchair by the fire... whereupon I proceed to unravel these tortured dreams, and tell you what it all means
Now that would probably be complete and utter PTBS!

Now that would probably be complete and utter PTBS!As I pointed out in Neal's trukkin' thread, living in an 18-wheeler is like the conning tower of a sub. You're "hot bunking" with a co-driver right out of truck school who can kill you from inexperience...always at 02:00 AM; the engine is beside the driver, always running: the heater in winter(-30 F.) and AC in summer(110 F.)( & Y I'm deaf) so fully attired=SOP with boots nearby, preferably high roping-heeled Llamas for eighteen hours of throttle control comfort on the right ankle. Truck cabs tend to catch fire; so remaining dressed except for jacket and easy-on boots is normal. Bathing on the third day at a truckstop is mandatory. Your diesel-stench imbued wardrobe is kept separate from your closetted garments. Ahhh the '70's!:O:

Which makes my point nicely: when you suddenly find yourself stark bollock naked in a queue at the Post Office, or anywhere else where you really ought to be wearing clothes... then you can bet you are dreaming and in need of some counselling from me
At least I hope you are dreaming

i had a very weird dream maybe a month ago.
I was running around with some of my friends and some girls on the Neptune countryside. Literally Neptune had a solid surface and there were gigantic meadows with grass that was as high as your head, and there were seas, homes, and the Northern Lights. Also people were talking about how “hot it was” on Neptune.
One of the side effects of Aricept is vivid dreams; when I started to take it while back, I was really surprised at how vivid they can be, and I discovered, by accident, that acetaminophen (Tylenol) taken at the same time as the Aricept heightened the vividness; I still retained the ability to control and steer my dreams, but, oddly, I started having dreams about old jobs and projects I had worked on, going back decades, in some cases; when I have those dreams, I tend to rehash some unsolved problem or issue with projects I felt were unresolved; the kicker is, I find myself coming up with solutions to the problems that I had missed before, but, since the time has long passed, there is no need for the solution...

Another weird dream of mine,
I don't know when this was, but it was probably a while ago considering this is the only thing I remember from that dream:
In my dream segment, I am in a sort of Cosco like store with some people I don't know. Then, for whatever reason I take out a huge knife from one of the shelves and I said, "I'm gonna show you fellas how safe this knife is" and I turn the knife around and stab myself in the gut.
I felt the knife stabbing me, but the feeling I felt wasn't pain, it was some other weird feeling I don't know how to describe.
Then I woke up for real in the real early morning and I had to check and see if I had a knife wound in my gut because it felt so real
The last few years or so I have been dreaming about death.
In many of them I meet former family members, like my dad and sometimes my elderly sister.
In one of these dreams I was dead..Can't remember everything from this dream.
I do remember thinking in this dream, where I'm dead.
I can't remember all the information I gather from this dream.
So first how do I feel.
Nothing I felt nothing.
Two things more.
You see colour in the afterlife, but they are mat.
And you also get tired when your dead, because I had a dream in my dream where I was dead-Can't remember what I dreamed, only that I had dream in my dream.
Confused..so was I when I woke.

Actually I have had a dream inside of dream before. I was sleeping in real life, and I was dreaming about school or what not, and then I went to sleep in my dream and in my fake dream my dad was looking at my non-existent roof in my bedroom (all I could see was the stars and the Milk way) and then he said, “Time to wake up for school.”
Well I woke up in that dream to the non-existent roof again, and then I woke up in real life at 05:00
False awakening isn't that rare. Can't remember how many out of 100 people have or had these false awakening.
I do not count how many of these I had throughout the years. My record is 3 false awakening- Oh manner was i confused when I woke for real...was I still dreaming or not.

Have them all the time; been a normal state since I was a child; I even 'edit' and 'direct' them as they are happening; it is the main reason I very, very rarely have what could be called a 'bad dream'; if the dream goes in a direction I don't like, I simply recognize the situation and either change it or just will myself to wake up, stopping the dream; I have also, in the past, been able to work through some daytime problems by setting finding solutions as a objective as I start to fall asleep; strange, but, for me, it often works...
<O>
I've had a couple lucid dreams, and they were awesome.
I've also had sleep paralysis, and that is terrifying ... usually. Except it happened to me just the other day (maybe the third time in my life) and was more frustrating than anything.
My wife had just called my name to wake me up and ask me a question. I knew I had been asleep, was now awake, and wanted to respond to her ... but I simply couldn't. I could not move, speak or even open my eyes. This only lasted probably 5 seconds, after which I was able to sit up and answer her.
The other times it happened to me, I was alone. But I felt like I wasn't. And the other presence I felt was definitely not a benevolent one. But they say that's common with this phenomenon.

I've had a mini sleep paralysis case before.
I had fallen asleep in the bonus room watching a TV show about ghosts, and I had fallen asleep against a beanie bag. Then I wake up all the sudden and right in front of me is the ghost girl from the Ring hiding behind the beanie bag (I had turned myself around in my sleep to face the wall behind the beanie bag) she was crouched down, looking at me like this:
https://www.canyon-news.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/The-Ring.jpg
Then rather quickly her face just turned into the most malicious smile ever, and thats when I snapped out of it and sprinted down the hallway to my parents room.
The whole thing lasted only like four seconds.
This paralysis as you call it was something I suffered from in my youth.
It always happened before I fell asleep.
My body got paralysis-I could think, but couldn't move a muscle.
Sometimes I also heard music.

I haven't had something similar to that since.
But I have had these very vivid dreams were I would wake up and I would do things, and I could feel my body doing these things. Then I would fall back asleep and I would always vaguely remember them.
It almost always occured when someone was in the same room as me.
Mapuc, I think what you are talking about there is that your body has fallen asleep but your mind hasn't. When we fall asleep, our body muscles tighten to prevent ourselves from acting out our dreams, and then we start to dream (which might explain the audio halluncinations). I know there is a name for this, but I cannot find it.
^ Made a search and it's called Sleep paralysis happens before wake up or in my case before falling asleep.
First time it happened-my heart was beating so massive I thought it would explode out of my chess=nervous like hell.

Yeah, in most cases of sleep paralysis people have MASSIVE anxiety attacks.
Sometimes I wonder if sleep paralysis is just your body going to the afterlife and you cannot move because you aren't supposed to be there.
It might explain some of the nasty stuff people see during sleep paralysis.

Only the first few times..I so to say became use to it....learned how to relax and slowly start to move parts of my body..first the big toe on my right foot then the same foot...about 1-2 minutes later I could me normally again.
I have never suffered from seeing things, only hearing things and this happened only a few times.
I could be remembering wrong, since it's decades ago since last time I had one of these sleep paralysis.

Interesting. Sometimes, when I am falling asleep, I will hear someone call my name. It is very clear, and sounds urgent - as if someone is trying to draw my attention to some emergency, and they cannot believe that I am sleeping at such a time. It shakes me out of sleep. Until I drift off again.
The voice is familiar ... but not. Perhaps my mind playing tricks on me.
Or ... :hmmm:

There is also a name for that too. It has been reported by many many people, some people have heard dead family members calling their names.
