I keep starting campaigns and finding when I get into action that manual targeting has turned itself on. Now I can still get by without learning all that stuff by using deflection shooting, but for some unknown reason any torps fired from the rear tubes turn through about 120 degrees. What is going on here?

When you're in the office, click on the radio on the shelf to the left. You can set your options there.
As for the rest, I haven't had enough coffee to think about yet. It's probably because the game thinks the target is in front of you, since the TDC hasn't been set. Try aiming the scope directly aft and sending that bearing to the TDC before making a stern shot.

Hi b
A fast shoot at 90 degrees with rear tubes.
Your range should be less than the pull down plastic piece which is maximum 1241 yards.
At 180 degrees you are at 90 degrees AOB.
At a slow moving target you can set the 90 degrees AOB at 170 or 190 degrees depending on which way the target is traveling.
Remember you must have the tube doors open.

You're right. I 'foolishly' assumed that having set my options in the Main Menu they would apply in the game.
