I really like dangerous waters. It feels great to play even if its a little dated.
But it also seems like the kind of game that is built for co-op. It can be difficult (al least for a beginner like me) to jump from station to station in good time without having my DD blown out of the water in combat.
Does anyone still play co-op? or is it dead? or is there a modern game that people have switched to?
DW is still active mostly in European regions. We play DW several times in week but we try to organize bigger sessions in Fridays and/or Saturdays.
Here are links to Discord channels:
DWLD (https://discord.gg/zCFd76s) - mostly for european time zones players (but not only eu)
FPSchazly (https://discord.gg/ZPpcGGb) - mostly for american time zones players.
DWLD is mainly for DW game, FPSchazly - DW is NOT main game there. Also DWLD have almost everyday activity.
I know that Russian language players have own community but they probably meets via VK (russian "facebook") or Tunngle and now i haven't good contact with them.
BTW Co-op is boring - better is Team deatchmatch mode where side fights against opposite side. Missions often have background, fabula, and task.
We play with RA 1.43 mod via Directplay connection. I hope you will join us soon.
My nick is Pepe and i am from polish community.
