View Full Version : JFK assassination: Thousands of files released
The US government has released 2,800 previously classified files on the assassination of President John F Kennedy in 1963.
President Donald Trump said the public deserved to be "fully informed" about the event, which has been the subject of various conspiracy theories.
But some documents have been withheld at the request of government agencies.
One memo revealed that the FBI had warned police of a death threat against the assassin Lee Harvey Oswald.
"We at once notified the chief of police and he assured us Oswald would be given sufficient protection", writes the FBI director J Edgar Hoover.

There is certainly information that should be displayed in the light.
British paper received an anonymous call
One memo describes how a British local newspaper, the Cambridge News, received an anonymous call about "some big news" in the US, just 25 minutes before the assassination.
"The caller said only that the Cambridge News reporter should call the American embassy in London for some big news and then hung up", it says.
Some local rag gets this over the national press, wow that must had irked them off.

Trump is trying to keep the news on other matters than himself with the Russian investigation dragging on ... :yep:
I would rather see all of the data the government has on UFO's than an unsolved assassination case :yep:

I remember when Carter was running, one of his promises was to open up the UFO files to the public.
Then he got elected and received the real intelligence briefings. He then said the files could not released due to "National Security Concerns"
Things that make you go hmmmmm :hmmm:
Update: http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-fbi-files-revelations-20171027-story.html
Several news paper in Denmark and Sweden have gone through these paper and they say there isn't exactly any huge surprise or bombshell( I believe you call it) in these paper.
One if the news paper had a smaller part about Hoover and his demand or wish that people shall see Oswald as the only perpetrator.
With this in mind I wonder if the rest, about 800 pages will be a surprise or a bombshell when or if they are released.

The problem is Markus is that the files that have been released are so heavily redacted that nothing new will ever really be released and everything that is released is heavily censored.
