View Full Version : SH4 on Rift with Vorpx
So I seem to have this working for the most part. Other than a FOV that could be bigger, I think I can work with it. Especially once I get my voice attack profile built.

More details!
It is a little awkward because with the FOV you are very zoomed in.But once you get used to augmenting your look around with the mouse it isn't bad.
I've only floated around so far so no idea how hard an attack will be but actually seeing the 3D is awesome. Still just running with the base 1.5 no mods so no idea if that will be a problem either.
Will do much more testing this weekend and see if I can't do some screenshots of settings and such.
Also planning on trying out SH5 although I am far more interested in the US pacific campaign.
Voice attack will be key because you can't really see the menus without using what vorpx calls peek mode, which zooms you back from the screen so you can see menus.
The only thing that would make it better is being able to increase the FOV, and maybe unlocking the camera, which I am pretty sure there was a mod for. Taking a little time because I hadn't played in a few years and am rusty and have to work out my mods.

Sounds really interesting. Keep us posted!
Will do.
In the meantime I am catching up on your FOTRS Ultimate Project thread(only on page 5 so far), look forward to giving it a VR test. I'm going to have to try some kind of mod because I am already tired of looking at the crappy stock water.
Just downloaded a program called Flawless Widescreen that I have been led to believe may resolve my FOV issues.
Voice Attack profile mostly built, but haven't figured out how to use it to do many things I would like. Such as command a certain speed/heading or a rudder angle other than hard rudder. For now I will just live with the VA things I can do and revisit once I have all the other issues resolved.

I don't know about Voice Attack, but there is this this (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=119430).
Aside from the key commands, it also handles most of the menu bar functions, as well. Including setting specific rudder orders, speeds, depths, and headings.
