New to SH5, unsure of what mods to get

I've played SH3 and a bit of SH4 in the past, but I'm new to SH5. I see that there's loads of mods out there for SH5, but I'm unsure of which ones would suit my needs. I want something that'll fix bugs and make the game more playable than it is right out of the box, but I don't want to add tons of new content that I'll never use (e.g. new uboats, new ships, new planes, etc) because I've got limited hard drive space. To put it simply, just the original game with bug fixes and gameplay improvements.

Also, I have the Steam version of the game. Hopefully that isn't going to make things too difficult for me.

Anyone want to help me out with this?

edit: Maybe this (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=181433) is what I'm looking for? I tried running this but it threw an error when trying to patch sh5.exe, saying that it the exe wasn't the expected version...

TDW's Generic File Patcher is an essential application to be able to play SH5 as it removes bugs,glitches and fixes a lot of things.
You need to use this conversion.

Ah, I didn't know that TDW required v1.02. So what your method does is manually extract the v1.02 sh5.exe from the update installer so that we can run TDW. I'll try this tonight!

Hello! Welcome to Silent Hunter 5!. I would recommend:Kaleun_Salute: getting the "wolves of steel" mod-pack and installing it with jsgme. This is really the only mod that i would recommend getting to have the full experience of the game.
