On grumpy days, you really wonder sometimes: why must they always miss...? :arrgh!:
Don't bother me unless it comes in a mile of the earth. :O:

Grumpy, me? All the time. Reasons galore to be, minor and major ones, , private and non-private ones. Its been a lousy year for me so far. If there would be aliens on that incoming asteroid, I would be tempted to paint a big, fat "X" on my roof.
Well, if the Alien shows "up" say hello from me.:haha:
@Skybird
You will get the "Trekkie's" version of the X-Files mob around your gaff, mind you if Gillian Anderson turns up and if you post pictures of you and her...... :wah:
Gillian Anderson belongs to me.:03:
With Charleston being the last city to host the first coast-to-coast total solar eclipse in the United States in almost a century, area businesses are cashing in. Nathan Frandino reports.

TC4 will pass within 0.00033 AU of earth on the 12th of October. Though I've been assured there's no chance of impact before 2050. The margin for error is already fairly wide so maybe, just maybe it could hit.
Well its got around 50 odd minutes GMT to smash into the Earth and wipe us all out.

If it were a mile from earth that would put it most of the way through our atmosphere. Chances are the whole thing would explode like the Tunguska explosion in 1908. The Tunguska meteor/asteroid/whateveritwas is estimated to have been only 150 feet in diameter and leveled 800 square miles of dense forest.

Pretty much my point.

I still have a hard time conceptualizing the energy transfer that was involved in that incident. :o
