Fail to start

I have had the same sort of problem in the past.

Click on SH5 icon, games seems to start.

"Allow SH5 to make changes"

Click ok

Then nothing.

So I figure the gamelauncher is faulty (this has happened ion the past)

Dowmload gamelauncher

Uninstall uplay.

Reinstall gamelauncher

Click uplay.

Uplay updates

Log on screen comes up and updates

Finally, Sign in email, password

Unable to connect to uplay.

Message: "The procedure entry point cef_browser_create_sync could not be located in the dynamic link library libcef.dll"

The I get "Failed to connect uplay"

Help?

Decided to uninstall, and do a fresh install for TWoS mod.

Just completed re-install and patched to v1.2.0.

Same message.

Hi Sandman
Do a complete uninstall from the control panels program and features for both SH5 and Ubisoft/Uplay game launcher.
Use a registry cleaner.

Re-install the game.

The I get "Failed to connect uplay" This has become a common error message.
Pressing the ESC key a number of times sometimes and then start the game from the SH5.exe again can sometimes cure the problem.
Alternatively try starting the game from the game launcher Uplay.exe

If all fails uninstall the game launcher and follow previous instructions.
Download a new genuine game launcher from here and install it in something like. C:\Ubisoft in the folder before where your game is installed.

Did that once this morning. Did not remove the old SH5 folder in the ubisoft folder, so I manually deleted the file.

Use a registry cleaner.

Hi Sandman, I'm experiencing the exact same problems that you did. Where did you download the new Uplay Game Launcher from? I downloaded a new copy from another post here on Subsim and that copy causes the same problems described in your post. Thanks, Mike
