Hi there.

Just placed a post in the SH4 subforum, but here nearly the same question.

After finishing a computer for fooling around a bit, I had an old VGA monitor with 1280x1024 resolution.
Wonderful, no problems.

Now, in the final setup, I have a DVI monitor with 1680x1050 resolution.
I know, there is a patch in the download section.
I installed the game with that "final" DVD version with no copy protection and also installed the two add-ons "Seewölfe" and "U-Boote im Mittelmeer" (they were not official, but included in the "Sub-Pack" DVD release.
Will that high-resolution patch collide with my installation, or will those add-ons not influence the effect of that patch?

Also, second thing: On this site, tere are so many additional things for download. Wow, thank you.
What are, in your opinion, the most interesting things, especially for new beginners to SH3?

Another question: Will the add-on ships appear randomly in the standard career mode?

Thank you so much.

"Seewölfe" and "U-Boote im Mittelmeer" Both of those are bad news. Someone took mods created by the SH3 community and released them for sale, which created a lot of trouble here. Since you got them as part of a package you got them very cheap, and it's a little late to warn you away from them.

I only bring them up because they may be causing your problems. I'm not sure if that's the case, but they do have a bad reputation.

There are a whole world of things to recommend, but I'd start with one of the supermods - GWX, LSH3, NYGM, and go from there. For add-on ships there is Iambecomelife's Merchant Fleet Mod, plus a host of specialty mods like the ones from Von Dos's Shipyard.

After that, everybody has a list of favorite mods, and some of those are very long. It's an addiction. Have fun with it.

Wow, thank you.
So, the stole the content of the modders to sell their stuff? How bad.

I must confess, I never really thougt about it. Just made the full install, no matter it those two add-ons really have any advantage for me (or for the game).

So, it looks like I have plenty of things to try - looking forward to it. :)

Fist, I will try this one:

I hope this will work well with my installation.

*edit*
It works without any negative conspicuity. Just tried it. So great!
