I'm looking for a suggestion for a sub/naval sim, WWII, cold war or modern day.
I run Windows 10 and I'm OK with learning sims. Suggestions on where to start please and thanks?

Welcome to Subsim :salute:
There are quite a lot to choose from.
WWII: Silent Hunter 3 (german boats), Silent Hunter 4 (US boats but also mods to play for the german side, very well made), Silent Hunter 5 (german), ad Silent Hunter online (german). I read it is not quite up to the others but never played it myself.
Then there is the new upcoming "Wolfpack" sim (german boats), allowing a team of simmers working together on different stations on a virtual sub online, very promising.
Cold war/Modern days: Sonalysts sims are about the cold war and modern days, fom "Jane's 688i" to "Sub Command", to "Dangerous waters", depending on sim and modding.
An all-new sim about the cold war is "Cold waters" from Killerfish games, which seems to be pretty good (and i sure will buy it).
Indeed you could browse the different categories on Subsim here, to get a good overview about virtually everything that is and ever was. Can be a bit baffling though (sorry for the pun :D)

Start with SH3... you might not then ever bother much with the others :)
