I am probably being thick, but.. a few months back I lost my games computer and so have had to reinstall my games on a different machine. Today I got around to putting the LSH3 mod on again - which had been working fine before, but today the mod goes on and all seems well, but I cannot get the LSH starter to point to the game folder and there is no shortcut on the taskbar. It says there is no copy of SH3 in the folder - and there isn't an sh3.exe, so that is right. It did find the Steam version, but that is vanilla, so that no good. What am I doing wrong? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the mod about three times, and yes, SH3 is a clean unplayed copy and the mod installed without any murmurings.... I did look in the manual.. I am hoping you will say 'oh! well you have to..' and then it will run... :)

Blitzkreig,I did not realise there was still an LSH discussion thread - nothing came up when I put LSH into search. It must be my day for doing things wrong. The STEAM mention was only to note that the starter found THAT copy of SH3 ( which I have since uninstalled), but did not find the non-STEAM copy of SH3 that has the LSH mod in it. You have helped me though - I could not recall who to go to by name - The Berbster, of course. Thank you.

I have found The Berbester's tutorials now, thanks to you, so I have bookmarked and shall have a good read tomorrow - he will set me straight!

If you get this figured out please post what the solution was. I had the same problem and never did get it figured out. Finally downloaded from steam and modded it but I liked LSH3 better.

PapaSmurf, I have not yet 'got to it' as we had workmen in yesterday, changing the boiler, and though I spent most of the time hidden away in the computer room, I could not concentrate on the LSH problem, except to say that I did NOT do what the guidance instructs us to do, which is to switch off the AV. My AV is so in the background, being Webroot, that I forgot it was there, but it did flag up what I assume was a false positive on the LSH install, so I am hoping that was my problem. I shall try again sans AV when I feel up to it. I did have it running just fine on the old games machine - much the same specs as this one, running W7 64bit with lots of memory, and a decent graphics card, so I do not think there should be a problem - we just need to 'read the flippin manual'! :03:

Hi SW
You should not need to disable your anti-virus.
Some ant-viruses like AVG will block certain applications that contain exe.
HSIE may be looked at as Malware and as soon as you click on it a blocking notice will come up.
If you have any problems just add an exception to both your firewall and computer settings, this is quite easy to do by browsing to where the exe is and excepting it.
There is no manual for the 2015 LSH3 version that is why I produced all the tutorials in English.
There is a full German version if you can understand it.
The LSH3 team are German speakers who do not have a good knowledge of English.
The 2017 LSH3 version I am told will have a proper manual, video or both.
Everything you need to know is in my tutorials although I have not covered OLC just the basic settings.
There is a large game manual for the previous LSH3 version in English with some useful information in it.
HSIE and SH3Commander both come with good instructional manuals.

It won't. vBulletin Search only registers words of four letters or longer. One way to do it is use Google Advanced Search. (https://www.google.com/advanced_search)
Type in what you're looking for. The 9th box down is labeled "Site or Domain". Type "subsim.com" into that box and it will guide you to all relevant threads.

Hi Peter, I hear what you say, but on this occasion, when I get back to it ( not well atm) I will turn off Webroot, which is cloud-based and eternally watching, as it did flag up the install as malware. If I then reinstall and still can't get it started I shall have another think and read your tutorials again. Thank you :)
Sailor Steve - ahh, 'splains it - thank you old bean :)

Hi SW
The LSH3_Patch_HSIE-V16B1 patch is in your mods folder.
The HsieOptionsSelector application needs to be added as an exemption.
Also you will find another SH3.exe as well here which also needs to be an exemption.
Settings, advanced settings, applications is where you are likely to find your Firewall exemptions.
Settings, advanced settings, exceptions is where you are likely to find your Computer exemptions.
