So as it turns out im not that much of a sub nut as most of you, so i mostly play SH3 with this nice Warship mod.

But theres a recurring issue that i could use some help with.

My guys on the bridge dont see ****.

Usually it goes like this, ship approches, camo indicator goes red,

"WEVE BEEN DETECTED HERR KALEUN!"
"WEVE BEEN DETECTED HERR KALEUN!"
"WEVE BEEN DETECTED HERR KALEUN!"
"WEVE BEEN DETECTED HERR KALEUN!"
"WEVE BEEN DETECTED HERR KALEUN!"

Yeah right ok but where is ze enemy then, hans? And hans just has no answer to that.

Switching to binoc and there it is after two seconds of search...

Since this happened a lot it happened in all shapes and forms:

80° Starboard - 3500m
60° Port - 7500m
5° Port - 5000m
120° Starboard - 8500m

And then i have to ask the question, i I myself can see them, why can my 5 officers of the watch who (and i specificly checked) have no fatigue and are all qualified watchmen not?

But then it came to me, it must be because this game is for submarines and not for ships, so here is what i need from you modders:

Where can i edit the scouting distances and efficiency of my guys on the bridge.

I looked through the files high and low but im not as experienced as you guys here :/

I apprechiate all the help i can get!

I would be very interested to know an answer for this also. Since I started running GWX3 the sighting distance of my watchmen has decreased and the sighting distance of the AI escorts has increased. As a result, about 50% of the time, the way I find out there is a destroyer in the vicinity is the announcement "we're under attack Herr Kaleun!" and I then hear the whizzing sound of a round flying past the conning tower. I sure hope there is an adjustment that can be made.

Bit of a necro I know, but can somebody answer? Last patrol I tried a down the throat shot at a destroyer, I could see it manually from ~3-4km away, pointed the bloody periscope at the thing and in clear view it's not seen until it's literally 700m away, I may have started yelling insults at my crew because for about a minute I had the periscope pointed at the destroyer steaming at us at 20knots for what felt like a long while and it would not be identified as a target by the crew. I even raised the observation scope too, just to give my crew another view, and pointed it at the destroyer.:damn:
