Stadimeter for wolves of steel

Hi this is a problem I cant work out, I have seen the videos on doing a manual targeting but I cant get the statimeter to work. I am trying to get the range but I cant find the button to get the double ship view for the range, I selected the ship from the id log book, seleted distance and clicked on the small icon above the stadimeter, and it says to use the mouse to change the distance, I have tried every button on the mouse and all mouse movements including the mouse wheel. How do I set the distance? Moving the mouse wheel just changes the zoom and the up and down movement just changes the periscope angle.

Did you use the space bar to bring up the XO box?

When you ID the ship in the ID book, you need to press the spacebar while you have the crosshairs pointed at the ship. Then click on the "Send mast height to stadiometer" in the ID book.

Then the stadiometer should work when you click the button at the top of it.

Hi thanks for the replies, ive been away for the week, so il check what you have said and get back...

Ah dont worry found the problem, I had used the main periscope, I have just tried the 2nd one in the conning tower and it works, I read that it didnt work on the observation periscope, only on the attack and on the bino`s on the deck.
