Im slowly but surely working through the bugs/technical issues in my first few patrols with SH5.

Graphics/sounds etc etc are all great, but I feel something big is missing in not being able to run SH Commander for crew management and 'flavor'

Even the Captains log is completely sterile in that I cannot inspect individual kills or kill types (unless im mistaken).

I guess my question is, how do you guys improve immersion in your own games? Is there some neat mod im missing (using TWO) or some other trick I may not know about for fleshing out my crew and log reports?

In short...the game looks real.....but how do I make it feel real?

Thanks

In short...the game looks real.....but how do I make it feel real?I'm asking many times this question myself when I'm playing SH games and the only answear to your question I found is - you can't. Because to feel it right, you'll need a time machine to actually go back in time and experience that time period.

SH is just a game, it's not even a proper simulator. It lacks so many things. If you think about them you sure won't play it long. But it is a nice game, moded ofcourse and it can recreate some aspects of ww2 sub warfare.

So my advises are - install TWOS, mod the game even further, learn manual targeting, use real navigation, watch some videos on youtube about WW2 sub warfare, learn some history , and above all use your imagination...

And perhaps someday the moment will come, when you'll forget that you sit in front of a flat screen. Then you'll know that you catch a glimpse of how a german ww2 submarine commander felt back in those hard times...

I guess I meant....how to feel immersion like in SH3.

There I felt part of the war....not so much now....except for that spectacular water.:03:
