Don was one of my all time favorites ... I am more of an introvert while Don fulfilled my need for an extrovert side.
RIP Don ...
wasn't Don Rickles in an old WWII submarine movie as I recall?

What a hockey puck.
What a hockey puck.
Yep... one of the best. One of my all time favorites right next to Johnathon Winters. Now that's a pair to reek havoc in Heaven. :D
RIP Don. I only hope they knew your on the way to those pearly Gates a half an hour before you died so they can be prepared. Give em hell Don. ;)

I remember Don Rickles from Run Silent, Run deep among other guest cameo's . On Run Silent, Run Deep, Don Said, " If we open the hatches, the water will come in and the boat will go down faster. " I saw a clip where Don Rickles broke Johnny Carson's cigarette box when Johnny wasn't there from the Tonight show. Johnny Carson was talking with Tonight show band leader, Doc Sevrinson. Johnny Carson got up and went to the studio where Don Rickles was taping and stopped filming while he chewed Don Rickles out. :D

R.I.P. Don!
Don Rickles was an original and a classic performer. Here in Los Angeles, there is much grieving about Rickles' passing. Aside from being highly respected in the entertainment community, Don was also well known here as a very generous man who gave to many local charities, not just in contributions, but also in giving of his time to raise funds. He was of the old school of Hope, Burns, Benny, and others, who gave far more than people would ever know about. In spite of the caustic stage persona, he was considered by those in the entertainment field as one of the nicest persons in show business. It is the custom here in Hollywood, when a star passes on, to place a floral arrangement on their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; fans add to the memorial by leaving flowers of their own or other tributes such as notes, cards, or pictures; today, someone left a hockey puck on Don's star: he would have gotten a big kick out of that...
RIP, Don Rickles, and, when you get there, try to go easy on the angels...

He had a long career of making people laugh... and cringe at times.
