Thanks to Onkel Neal for approving my application.

Hello all other Salty Captains!

New Crew member here from Malaysia! I remember playing SH3 years ago and wanted to get back into it. I was never very good but liked the patient build up to sinking a ship and then running away hastily. Its basically like a deadlier version of ringing someones door bell and hightailing it out of there! SH3 was on steam offer and I've picked it up again.

There is a great deal of reading to be done with mods and i will get round to it eventually. But I actually started playing the vanilla steam version and it provides great buoyancy for my boat!

That said, noob question: How strict is the game with patrolling a grid for 24 hours? Must I engage targets in the specific grid or anywhere I find an opportunity?

Welcome aboard mchewie11 :sunny: In response to your question, If targets of opportunity present themselves during your career patrol, you are expected to engage them whenever and wherever you find them without penalty. If you expend your compliment of armament, i,e torpedoes, then I guess your guys will get a few days off somewhere. :D

The SH3 engine produces random occurrences and in my experience, if you are doing a little too good, the computer ramps up it's efforts with cooperative tactics involving aircraft and destroyers to get you.
