SH3COMMANDER Problem

When trying to start a new career I can select a starting flotilla other than Erprobungsstelle Kiel (depending on the date as per the manual) but I cannot select a boat type or number. The drop down menus have no entries (just one blank line).

When hitting the button labelled

"LSH3 Edition 2015 GAMESTART (tick mark)"

anyway, I get an error message saying

"No Flotilla or U-boat Type selected! Please try again."

Other information:

I have a LSH3 2015 install based on a steam version of the game, running on Windows 10. The installation path is "C:\Games\Silent_Hunter_3"

Other than that I have not encountered major bugs or problems. The game runs smooth and has crashed maybe two times since installation in early February 2017.

You can have more than 1 career running at anytime.
Archived careers that have not been deleted can be continued including Captains that have been transferred out of the game.
You need to click on New Career, enter a Captains name.
You can also change your starting date, year, but you must select the same year when you start your test mission in Eprobungstelle.

You should be able to select a boat type from the drop down box IIA or VIIB.

Is it possible to start in 7th Flotilla in, say, January 1940?

Here is what happens when I try to do that. I cannot select a boat type (see empty line in drop down menu, or a boat.

Is this behavior intended or am I experiencing a problem?

Yes you can but you still have to do the test mission first and then use the transfer telephone and select flotilla 7.

Change the year to 1940
Change the month to 1
In my picture I have selected 1940 Month 1 and I now have the option of starting with a type IXB.
Notice > Eprobungstelle test mission compulsory.

Can you see the error in your picture?
You can only start a new career in the Eprobungstelle test mission.
This is why you are getting the error message.
