Unable to properly launch SH5?

coming back to SH5 and wanting to play around with TWoS, i recently tried to reinstall SH5, CCleaned everything before and after, and I'm getting this weird bug trying to launch it.

its updated to v1.2 (per windows explorer, hovering over icon) however, when I launch it, the game launches, but it launches in window mode, flickering, playing the intro and splash. I cannot alt-tab to its window, and it wont let me attempt to select the window. If I let the entire intro play, it usually ends up closing itself. to close it out after it engages I have to go to task manager and select the task to kill it. I have not attempted anything beyond launching the game and getting past the first campaign intro from the TWoS thread.

any help? i'm on windows 10, running ubisofts craptastic u-play as admin, SH5 is running as admin. SH5 is installed into default folder, on a 256gb SSD. I'm on an Intel i5-4690k, AMD r9-280 [relabeled/OC'd HD7950]. tried running SH5 under win7 compatability, updated drivers, installing directx...

Ok, so I think I may have fixed it. after much tinkering and install/reinstall, i've figured out that for me, the SH5 EXE needs to be run in Admin, Win7 compatibility, AND "disable display scaling on high DPI settings" needs to be checked ON. hopefully this fixes my problems from here on. I've never had to use this setting before, but this monitor I am on now, I don't believe I've ever played SH5 on it and it is a 1440p monitor.

Any application that has a.exe is worth running as an administrator including the 32 bit game launcher.
The default install in the (x86) directory is not the best place to install your game if you have the choice to install it elsewhere.
It has restrictions and does not like changes being made to it.

running SH5 on WIN10 with radeon gpu(r7 370) too
.exe is run as admin
does not need compatibility mode
my default folder is c:/ubisoft/sh5
never bothered to change it and worked fine so far. the only letdown is the long time the game needs to start.
if you experience graphic issues on a fresh install you could also try to use a resolution mod that comes with twos and works for your resolution/monitor screen.

the only letdown is the long time the game needs to start. This will be down to either you systems capability or the number of saved games you are keeping.
The more saved games you have the longer the loading time.
You can turn off the intro screen movie in TDWs Generic File Patcher or just press the Esc key.
