New to this communety but not new to Silent Hunter. I played about 80.000 games in WOT but got so dissapointed in the game I deleted it entirely from my PC. Remebered the good old days of Silent Hunter 2, 3 and 4. Downloaded the Steam version of Silent Hunter 5 and began to read this forum. Now i am in the stage of receiving the CD of SH5 and when so I will start to download the Wolves of Steel modpack in the hope to become a decent "Kaleun".
I did build the U-953, type VII-c, in 1/48 scale and was adopted by its former crew. Hence my nickname "Sub953". I count myself lucky that I was able to meet and talk to the real Kaleun of U-953 on a number of Crewtreffens in Germany, Karl-Heinz Marbach, a barer of the Knightscross, before he died in september 1995.

EDW is Ehemalige Deutsche Wehrmacht.
So i portray a common German soldier in WW2. In my case a 'Spies" or company sergeant major. Our club is also re-enacting Dutch resistance.
And thx for the warm welcome. I really hope this sim brings the joy back for me in (on line) gaming.
I did see there is a Dutch forum too.
