Installing GWX3.0 Access Denied

Hello gents,
Installed SH3 after many years, thought I'd have a good old play, like in the good old days.

Upon installing GWX3 over the original game, I get an access denied error which doesn't let me continue with the install. This is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Silent Hunter 3

Have searched about a bit with permissions in win10 but I'm not that PC savvy, so I only got more muddled up.

Any help would be very much welcome.

GWX is an application and IIRC is not installed in your main game folder but can be installed anywhere.
It just needs to know the SIlentHunterIII main game folder where your SH3.exe is.
Must be installed over a clean and previously un-modded SH3.

After fiddling about for ages, I've decided to torrent the whole thing from the PirateBay, instead of trying to make the Steam version work.
