How to upgrade my uboat?

I just started Happy Times, and my base switched to Lorient. I docked there, and expected to be given a Type VIIB so I'd get a stern reload. Didn't happen. I don't know if this is a glitch or what. Is there a way to manually get the VIIB?

I am surprised that you did not receive an upgrade during Total Germany.
Did you sink any neutral ships?
Are you using TWOS?
TWOS v1.06 Compatible Additional Mods Endorsed By vdr1981 (https://www.mediafire.com/folder/uuh93xvw926wd/TWoS_1.06_compatible_additional_mods)
You will need to start a new career.
You can use silentotto to select Happy Times.

Check your KSDCommander logs and stats and you'll get your answers...

I suspect that your rating is too low due to low tonnage patrols or neutral kills...
