Can someone explain the following fatigue models: RUb, RUb 1 x TC, and GW/GWX 8 Hour. I understand default and no fatigue. I have been using SH3 default. I am testing the others, but it would be a help if someone could give me a quick explanation. Thanks.

In gwx's manual is a section about fatigue. I would assume 'GW/GWX 8 Hour' is what the manual is talking about. Now, I, furthermore, assume that 'Rub' stands for Rubini? As far as I remember has sh3 commander an integrated manual which you can open by clicking on help or something, not sure.. You might find your answers there :hmmm:

GWX 8-Hour is a fatigue model based on having the watch stand an 8-hour shift. It works quite well in calm weather, but in a storm the fatigue level drops after only two hours on watch. This is especially noticeable for the bridge and engine room, but not a problem except for the hassle of changing the men every two hours. It's almost impossible on a Type II boat, as there just aren't enough men to keep going.

RUB stands for Real U-Boat, the first real supermod for SH3, created a long time ago by Beery, and is programmed to represent overall fatigue for an entire patrol, not just a day. This means that the fatigue levels drop much more slowly, but never recover. The idea is to represent the men becoming more tired as the weeks pass, and needing some R&R. The problem is that you have to replace the watches all the time, or some of the men will become useless, and since they can't recover...

RUB 1 x TC is specifically designed for playing a patrol in real time, i.e. never using time compression at all.

The devs fixed all that in SH4, with watches rotating automatically, but in SH3 the only realistic way to play the captain is to just turn Fatigue off. All the different Fatigue models are available with a single click if you use SH3 Commander.
