Campaign saves from mod to mod

Can one copy-paste an "in-progress" campaign/career save folder (but saved while in port) from one MOD to another? (NYGM-tonnage > GWX3 or vice versa)

I would hate to lose the time already invested in present career.

Will most probably not work as all supermods use different ships and other units! But hey, you can try!
