So I just hit 1943 and got the Falke torpedo.
It does not seem to track targets. I just fired one into the midst of a 40-ship convoy and it flew straight as an arrow and hit nothing.
I'm running Wolves of Steel 1.05.
Any advice?

Did you send all the data to the TDC before firing? And of course, did you take all the measures in the window that appears when you lock on the target?

I use full manual TDC and have over 300 kills through January 1943 - I have no problem firing torpedoes at targets. :)
The problem is the Falke is supposed to be an acoustic homing torpedo and it is not tracking targets after firing - it just continues in a straight line.
Has anyone successfully used the Falke under Wolves of Steel?

Unrelated to your question...TWoS 1.06 is up for some time and you'll find that it is much more stable...:yep:

To have a fully functional mod, you should restart a new campaign:doh::wah::k_confused:
In SH3 targets had to be traveling at least 11-14 kts for Falke torpedos to work correctly. I'm not sure about that also applying in SH5 but, it could.

Well, I re-loaded the game and re-fired at the convoy - 3 steamers and a Falke. The steamers got there ahead of the Falke and alerted the escorts who hit the gas - and then the Falke started tracking and blew its screws off.
I then re-engaged the convoy again and fired two falkes - one hit from true aim and then the other started tracking and hit the one that had already been hit.
So I'm guessing there is a lower speed threshold and 10 knots ain't it.
