Problems downloading SH5 from Amazon

Hey guys, this is my first post. Anyways I originally got this game on Steam but after reading stuff on here I decided I wanted to have mods on there. So then I decided that I could just download it from Amazon and problem solved. Nope, it will download and then when I go to install it it won't make a desktop shortcut or anything.

A folder was created on my desktop labeled Silent Hunter 5 Golden Edition (Download) and when I click on that it opens up my file fold. I click on the file and a page tries to load but it quickly closes itself and thats all it does. Its an AFP file (idk what that means) and I don't know what else to do. Maybe just but a physical copy? It wouldn't bother me. If it helps, I have Windows 10.

If you guys have any thoughts or ideas on what to do, I'd appreciate it.

Did you install the Steam version or just install the Amazon download?

I downloaded the steam version first and played it for a bit. Then I tried to do the work around but got to about step 2 and it couldn't install but didn't give me a reason why.

So, did you uninstall the Steam download?
Check that there was no Folder left in the Programs Files (X86) Directory.
Check that the SH5 Save Games Folder had been removed from your Documents Folder.
Check that there were no left over game files or applications on your system?
Ran a free registry cleaner like Ccleaner?
Then rebooted your system before downloading the Amazon Silent Hunter 5 download?
The Amazon download I would expect to default to the Program Files (x86) Directory
The v1.2 update is found in your Silent Hunter 5\Support\GameUpdater\gu application folders.
Click on the gu application and it will install the necessary files.
Hover your mouse over the SH5.exe and it will have change from v1.05 to v1.2

Ok so i cleaned all the files and used Ccleaner and re-downloaded the game and then went to install it and got to what i think was the activation link but got this:

https://secure.ubi.com/login/edituser.aspx?lang=en-US&product=5189&skin=productregistration

And it won't load for me, i get this message: Http/1.1 Service Unavailable

Are there any other ways to access the activation link?

Edit: Ok so looking at some other forums I found out I had to make another account.
