Its a natural phenomenon. In extreme freezing temperatures, when ice crystals in the air hold a certain form, they reflect light emitted from ground sources in this manner, building these towers of light.

If I saw that, I'd suggest that reality needed its graphics card replacing. Or at least having the fluff blown out of it...
