How to upgrade or change U-Boat

Hey all

Bit of a dumb question I guess but how do I change my U-Boat?

I'm currently running Operation Monsun, and I'm in a IID (I think), it's early war and I've only done 2 patrols so I'm not at the point where I would need or want to change up but when I do I have no idea how to do it?

Also how do I add upgrades - I've taken a look in-game and I can see for example I can change the logo on my U-Boat but, again, I don't seem to be able to work out how?

Can anyone point me in the right direction on these two points?

I assume you are running Operation Monsun? If so, you can select your UBoat type during the career start process, same place you pick the career start date; it really depends on which Flotilla you join. For example, Flotilla 7 usually starts with a Type IX out of Wilhelmshaven. As for upgrades, they are offered when you are in port. Most will cost renown points earned during previous missions.
