Boeing has announced that it successfully tested an electromagnetic pulse missile capable of disabling electronics without affecting structures. The Counter-electronics High-powered Advanced Missile Project (CHAMP) was tested by a Boeing Phantom Works/U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory Directed Energy Directorate team on October 16 at the Utah Test and Training Range.

@Jim maybe I was wrong when you brought up the subject that a Russian jet fly by did damage to the USN destroyer's electronic's. Perhaps I spoke too soon and Russia already has this advanced tech tool and instead of what looks like a vanity fly by is really a weapons test.

Quite possibly but if they do have the technology I'm not sure if I'm surprised they had said technology first...or is it more a case of making it public first? :hmmm:

Who ever came up with it first, its amazing where technology is taking us. Not sure its a good thing, but it is amazing what they can come up with. Makes you wonder what they could do if they worked on things to make life better for everyone, instead of making weapons systems.

I imange an EMP weapon will be invented someday that can be fired from the shoulder to down planes or stop a tank or cure your zone of a drone :yep:

I just hope it is never available for third world countires or even worse terrorist. :hmmm:
