To celebrate its 50th birthday, Jeep created a concept vehicle that mixes a CJ and two versions of the Wrangler. Dubbed the CJ66, The concept made its debut at the recent 2016 SEMA show.

The vehicle blends the body of a 1966 Jeep CJ, the chassis of the more recent Wrangler TJ and the bumpers and lights of the Wrangler JK. You’ll notice lots of little vintage details too, like retro decals, Viper seats and a drop-down tailgate.

Man, nice concept. This will be like printing money for Chrysler. I would prefer a high output V6 myself, to save weight, but lawdy that is one nice set of wheels.

 Will it be avaliable in 2.5 or 2.8 diesel? :D:03:

You'd look pretty cool driving around the Ponderosa in that

While looking nice and classically Jeepy :), I would prefer the mother of all Geländewagen any time: the famous Unimog. It has something that most of its rivals not have: potence where most other such cars already had to give up.

I had the questionable pleasure to ride Unimogs in the past. Not really a pleasure. But boy, these things eat difficult terrain like me eats chocolate pudding. Very impressive. And sometimes scaring (while the driver is wide-grinning).

I'm liking both of these... 2 questions come to mind...

1: Do they come with a manual transmission? With a REAL clutch linkage (no cable/hydraulic clutches). EDIT: The Wrangler does... But they need to upgrade the axles to the Dana 60, at least...

2: Are they made of real METAL, not plastic or vinyl? Rocks and trees like to make a mess of body work. At least metal you can keep it on the truck, plastic and vinyl just get ripped off completely.

And just had a though about the time I was going to click "submit reply"....

The Wagoneer would look really good with an exo-cage, snorkel and a couple of spot-lights...

Yeah, it's marketing brilliance. You and I would have done this 20 years ago, but they are just figuring it out now. :)

Here's another, wow, what I wouldn't give for one of these

The 900S iteration takes things to a whole new level with over $25,000 in upgrades to the 1967 GT500 Shelby Mustang, including a 427 cubic-inch Ford Performance engine with a Procharger F1-R supercharger system that in tandem deliver over 800 horsepower. This particular example is headed to one very lucky customer in Germany straight from CR’s factory in Yukon, Oklahoma.

You could get one of these to go to the cabin in Maine:

Niki put tracks on the front and then you'd have a great snow machine.

Whatever I get has to be good at breaking trail in the snow.
