I think her comments sounded sincere and humble. Nicely done.

Regardless of how we may feel about our presidents, I feel that we can all agree that we have some classy FLotUS's oin our history.

Why Of course?

I think he's trying to say that we're unfair possibly racist SOBs for not making sure that the Obamas are portrayed in a good light by posting links like that.

Of course had one us published any of Laura Bush's equally heartfelt speeches it would have been considered as rank propaganda because after all it's not what is said but who says it.

Well, there are dozens of naval new stories each week (http://www.subsim.com/index.php), most never get posted in General Topics, so I wondered why.

She's intelligent, dignified and beautiful; I wonder where things would stand if she were also running for President?

I just thought it would fit in a naval submarine forum, sorry for the fuss. Should have proposed this for publishing in the Subsim News Index page.

:haha: Rrright! I could not have expressed it better [/sarcasm] But really, i have not seen one link or idea posted by you or the usual suspects here in this forum that represent one positive aspect about the US president or Mrs. Obama. Instead i learned that the only thing Michelle Obama ever accomplished as the first lady was a garden, and the current Potus is the Antichrist. :03:

And I have nothing against books or heartfelt speeches of Mrs Bush, i think some of it has indeed be posted here somewhere.

Where was Michelle in the past 8 years? Made a garden and changed what kids are fed in school. 8 years ago, in her adult life, she was finally proud of America. Today she showed it.

Between you and me I think she is finally relieved that the second term is coming to a close. POTUS and FLOTUS is not that fun to be.

We'll find out if you're right by what she does after January. Does she step out of the limelight or does she start campaigning for public office.

She will step out of the limelight. Public office in it's current state is very unfriendly. I think both have been beaten up enough and the beatings will continue long after they vacate the White House. They will be HI bound after a short stay in a rental property in Howard County MD.

I thought about posting it, but then I said to myself, "No one would care"

Did you see at the end where she was sorry that it would be her last offical act as the first lady of the United States of America?

Plus she was quite amazed at one of our modern submarines and called it more complex than the international space station, which says a lot to me.

Now we have an advocat for submarines in the White House with only two and 1/2 months left.

:Kaleun_Salute: Sponsoring a warship is a big deal and a great honor; My aunt sponsored one named for her late husband, a world-class dredge expert, still on duty in New York Harbor and we all attended the ceremony. http://societyofsponsorsofusn.org/about/ (http://societyofsponsorsofusn.org/about/) Far beyond participation in ceremonial milestones, Sponsorship represents a lifelong relationship with the ship and her crew. While this bond begins with the ship’s christening and the initial (plankowner) crew, it will ideally extend throughout the ship’s service life and even beyond. In Navy tradition, the sponsor a ship is mostly a ceremonial role and normally filled by a woman. Technically the sponsor is considered a member of the crew and may advocate for the ship's continued service. Sponsors are encouraged to make every effort to foster this special relationship, and to maintain contact with the initial and successive captains and the amazing men and women who comprise her crew. This can be as simple as exchanging e-mails or holiday greetings to participating in sail-aways and homecoming events. http://navylive.dodlive.mil/files/2016/10/161028-N-ZI635-004-754x1024.jpg http://societyofsponsorsofusn.org/sponsor-information/ (http://societyofsponsorsofusn.org/sponsor-information/)Perhaps even a member of SUBSIM could B a sponsor....:ping: :ping: :ping:

Point is, not getting a lot of press isn't really a bad thing.

Every time I hear Michelle Obama speak I wonder why she is not in the race for president. Possibly because she is to smart to run for office?:yep:

I don't think she'd get past her surname, and like you say, she's too smart, she's seen what the modern US has done to her husband, if she's wise she'll steer clear of the system until it has either sorted itself out or crashed and burned.

Probably because every halfway intelligent person will probably have something better or more interesting to do, with his/her life?

Well either you are idealistic, or you are a fraud. In the first case the whole bore will grind you down, in the latter case you do all to accomplish a goal just for you or your "friends", financially.
Mostly it's the latter. That's the crux with politics, they need the best but get the worst.

We need to amend the constitution concerning the requirements of the position of PotUS.

If you want the job, you are disqualified. :D

Surely she's intelligent enough to steer clear of politics. She's set for the rest of her life regardless.
