why do you have to update the pk. I thougt its purpose was to continuosly update the enemy ship position without any further input.
Having to raise the scope to check the position of the pk seems to defeat its purpose in the first place. It's unlikely a convoy will change position in the
middle of the ocean.

There are several reasons:

If you have entered a wrong parameter, the artificial target's movement wonl't be the same as the real target. Updating target speed, bearing, range or AoB throughout your approach makes your solution more accurate.
Yes, it is a 100% probability that a ship will change course and/or speed at some time in its journey. And, as it is moving, its position is constantly changing.

For both reasons you can't just assume the target is where the PK says it is. You have to verify that before you shoot or waste a lot of torpedoes. The PK doesn't tell you where the target it. It tells you where you TOLD IT it should be.

:har: That ornery machine has no idea where the enemy is. It only knows what you tell it.

It's like my expensive printer. With all the money I paid for it you'd think it could get it's own paper.
