Some one correct me if im wrong but after entering speed etc the
tdc automatically calculates the lead angle and adjusts the gyro accordingly.

It also automatically adjusts for which torpedo you've selected and the speed of that torpedo. It adjusts for target course and target bearing as well. If you change any of those parameters the TDC automatically adjusts the gyro angle of the torpedo to compensate.

Absolutely! And it wasn't digital. It was totally analog, and mechanically driven with electric motors and gears.

Analog relay logic, coupled with mechanical calculators...

That wire hanging free was the headphone connection, but since IOS # 10, they don't need the wires anymore... ahem... sorry...

I'd say it's amazing for any time period. Yes, it's nothing compared to our electronic computers today, but the technology still amazes.
