I'm simply fascinated with the model making for the movies. CG has take that over but I really do like the way miniature models were made.

Here's another great website by Dennis Lowe (who worked on ALIEN) concentrating mostly on the models and sets. Lots of photos and of course the excellent 'ALIEN Makers' documentary.

Thanks for the links, i have a sketch book from Chriss Foss and knew that he did a lot of proposal work for 'Alien', but his layout did not make it to the screen. First time i ever saw a photo from him

OT i still think the remains of the first space jockey in Alien 1 was to be a skeleton, and not an exterior 'suit' like portrayed in 'Prometheus'. Theer are quite a few breaks in the storyline anyway..

I ignore Prometheus completely. And I cannot grasp how Ridley could do it the way he did. The same guy who gave us Alien, and then he throws out such a failure of a movie, full of plot holes, nonsensical characters who are making even worse decisions throughout the movie.

It's amazing when you look at the old scary movie genre from many years ago featuring such names as Boris Carloff, Bela Lugosi and many others and use them as a backdrop compared to the scary movies today. That work isn't limited to that genre either.

When you look at the special effects in Sci-Fi movies such as Star Trek and Star Wars just to name a few, it's amazing. Entire production companies like Lucas films productions and his company, Industrial Light & Magic and many others are a staple in today's movies.

But what's wrong with red vs. green aliens? :D

Red vs. Black/Blue

And to answer your question: Nothing from canon POV, but it's still a *bleep* stupid idea.

Yup, got busted for drugs and kicked off the movie.

You can still see half his face in ALIENS, just as they are entering the hive:
