I was patrolling off the west coast of Africa with about 4days from my last save and all of a sudden a Black Screen. I could still hear the game for a minute or 2, playing on. So I was thinking my video card over heated. I'm on the 2nd floor of my house and its been very hot here this summer. I usually pop the side cover and run a desk fan aimed at the CPU,GPU area of my mother board. I have never crashed. So I tried several ways to save the day, but it wasn't happening. I hit the reset button and on my restart, I got'a "Up Dates Installing" message. When finished and restarted, I checked of the time of those up dates. It was the same time I was playing. I was wondering if that was the cause of my crash. I'm personally going with a overheating issue, it was hot in my office at the time. The Windows Up Dates were a coincidence or were they ? Has anyone noticed a problems with a SHIII session running and the downloading and installation of up dates in the "background". thanx

That has happened to me in the past quite a few times with various games. I've now set updates to download, but not install until I say so. That fixed it.

Did a search on how to stop the installation of Windows10 up-dates last night. It looks as though I can temporarily stop or turn off the up-dates from installing while playing SHIII. With windows 10 Home, I don't see a way to pick and choose which up-dates I want, but that's another thread and/or another forum all together. Now back to the topic. My solution is to simply turn it off before game play then turn it back on afterwards.
