Can't turn music down in CoD4

I just returned to playing this (offline, from disc) and I can't turn the bloody music down! I can't hear anything except the music, good though it is!

'Options>Sound' only allows me to change the sound from mono to stereo, sound quality or master volume; no facility for controlling the music volume, and I can't see an advanced options button anywhere...

I thought you was a peace loving squirrel Mr Squirrel but instead I've found out that you go around slaughtering people in there thousands, bad bad squirrel.


"goto C:\\Program Files\\Activision\\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare(or where ever it is installed) and rename the folder 'miles' to 'dismiles' basically all you have to do is add the 'dis' in front of the name. that should do it. not sure if it works for single player but definitely in multiplayer.

The game menu music will be removed as well as the in game music(not to mention the victory/defeat music). i recommend to anyone that doesnt like the music to try it."

The sound was fine when I loaded the game tonight; the last 2 times, all I could hear was loud music but it's back to normal now :hmmm:... must have got a nut stuck in it. And I found the file you told me about OK, so I'll turn the music right off if I have any more trouble :up:

It's OK atm... but it can be difficult toting a RPG with one hand cradling your nuts :)

Music was drowning everything out again last night, so I followed the advice in Moonlight's post... no more music, hah! Thanks, Moonlight :yeah:

I Never saw the point in having music in a FPS game Mr Squirrel, but the first time I listened to the music in Rome Total War I thought it was absolutely bloody awesome.

Soldiers Chant and Divinitus, when you hear that music you know what game its from. :salute:

There was a fairly recent thread in GT's (I think) for posting your favourite in-game soundtracks. I'll see whether I can find it; I think the game you mentioned was there.
