confusion about gwx

so i was looking around and im confused...while i have no issues with donating to get certain things, GWX is...well they have their own site where you can get it without donating but here on subsim you have to donate to get it? yet they are the exact same thing? i mean im just trying to figure this thing out...it really is confusing me

The donation to Subsim helps Neal cover bandwidth.
There's a lot of places you can get GWX without donating.
It's your choice and none would think a thing about it.

ive donated before, i was just considering getting sh3...but i dont have the money for it XD terrible i know...i thought about going to G2A to get it..but its a uplay key or whatever and i hate uplay, i had a cd of it somewhere but i lost it
