Welcome to Subsim, Ben! You'll be stationed in officers' country. Our coffee is horridly strong and you'll grow to love it that way. You'll be OOD on the third watch and you better study for your dolphins in your off time. Every officer on board is at your service to help you learn.

Fluckey has the only ice cream machine right now but cookie in the galley bakes the best victory cakes in the fleet. We're a bit unconventional on this boat, so don't expect our procedures to be by the book.

Our job is to be dangerous, not to hide our tails under water all day. Our lookouts and our radar operator are why we live or die. Every man aboard, and that includes you, has 80 men's lives as their sole responsibility. Any single man can cost all the others' (and his own) life! Be sharp!
