Retire and live a simple uncomplicated life?
Continue working but enjoy a much better quality of life?
Or would you take this money and invest in a business to make even more?
Well Mr. Ronnie Music, Jr., 45, of Waycross, GA decided on the latter.
Unfortunately, the business he chose to invest in was smuggling Meth.
He got caught and plead guilty to conspiring with his friends to smuggle in 11 pounds of methamphetamine. 11 pounds!!! Since that is normally sold by the gram, that's just under 5,000 grams.
Since it sells for about $100 per gram. I uh read it on the internet:D. That's about a half a million. Not a bad return. If you don't get caught.
He is facing up to life in federal prison. Won three million dollars and is now looking at many years in prison. Yeah, good decision.

Maybe he should have asked Miss Cleo for investment advice...

Pretty ridiculous. On the opposite end of the spectrum is a guy here in Calgary who won 40 million 3 years ago and donated it all to charity:

Since I don't gamble I don't have that problem!!
Trying a bit of wit are we??:yep:

Who says you have to gamble to win the lottery? :hmmm: "You can't win if you don't buy a ticket". Not true at all, my friends.
If you buy a ticket, what are the odds of winning? Something like 16 million to 1, right? (I know, depends on the lottery agency).
16 million to 1....so, in practical terms, almost zero. Almost. On a scale the marker would be so close to zero you would say, yeah, almost zero.
And what are the odds of winning the lottery if you did not buy a ticket? Zero? Au contraire. There is still a tiny chance you can win the lottery without even buying a ticket. For example, you could be sitting in the park at lunch and a ticket that fell out of someone's pocket could blow up at your feet. Likely? No, not at all, the odds of that happening are almost zero.
Just like the odds of you buying a ticket and winning. Almost zero.
But still possible!
And so, if I ever do win the lottery, when they interview me with the big check on live TV, I'm gonna declare, "This is great, I didn't even buy the winning ticket, I found it on the beach, under an issue of Mad magazine.":arrgh!:

Three millions?
This is so riduculous. Why don't they make one million the max, and then give one million to three different players, with close numbers?! :nope:
What i would do with three millions? Lots of ideas :)
Pay the missing house rates, build a big garden pond, plan some holidays to where i have not been before, become self-reliant maybe with lending yachts, make a pilot license and build an 1:1 Etrich Taube replica to fly with, finally write the two books i never have time for, buy an Austin Healey 3000 in perfect condition and a Triumph Spitfire Mk. III in same. Get some Live steam model locomotives and build a garden railway, or buy a lathe and do it myself. Go sailing, North sea and round GB, then elsewhere, visit friends... i guess some shoes for the wife have to be included :O:
Oops just came down to reality again  :haha:

3 millions is about 20.1 million Danish kroner
I would give 6 million Dkr to animal(mostly cat stuff) and people(Homeless etc) in need
Then I will give 5-6 million Dkr to science-To find a cure or help people who's suffering from Tinnitus and Hyperacusis.
I will buy a little house far out on the countryside
The rest of the money will put into savings and investment, I will make it so I get a few thousand kroner each month and some month a little more.

3 millions is a lot of money too.
I wish it was more than 20 million dollars. Then I would hire Ubisoft and Dan to create from scratch a Destroyer Command that can operate against players that have either SHIII, SHIV or SHV.
I asked him when we were in Labour(U-995) how much it cost to build a game from scratch and to its in the factory being copied. He said about 20 million(if I remember correctly)

Buy a nice retirement/second home somewhere abroad in the sun and give the wife the retirement she deserves.

Keep an eye on the PowerBall lottery here in the USA.
They're predicting it might go as high as a $1.5 billion payout within the next couple of weeks.:o
What would I do with a big jackpot?
First order of business,
Purchase a great deal of toilet paper to clean up the deuce I dropped in my drawers after learning I had a winning ticket.:yep:

You know what they say, money can't buy everything.
Maybe so,
but it can buy me a boat.
My first plan would only work if the win was secret. I would set up a separate account in a separate bank and get a credit card with a massive limit and link it so I can replenish the card from anywhere by phone or online.
I would quietly take a leave from work, from life, from friends from family. Tell everyone I just need a little time, I'm okay but I need some space to reflect. One of a lifetime reflection, mental health break, etc etc. Don't wait up. I'm fine. pack up my truck with my camping gear and drive away. With the message I'll be back in a few weeks.
Take my passport and my most comfortable boots and drive to the nearest airport. Use the long term parking.
I'd fly anywhere that I fancied and follow my gut. I'd hire a driver so I could drink if I wanted to. The driver would just hang out for the trip and be around if I needed him (her) to drive. I'd enjoy anyone's company who chose to come along and just chase my whims. Rent or buy transport when needed. Motorcycles, boats, planes whatever.
Imagine sitting on a riverside in a small town and having the urge to see what was upstream. Engage the first person I see and offer to pay for a ride upstream. With the help of my “driver” and local help I could use my abundance of wealth to have all kinds of adventures.
I don’t image the 3 million would last very long. Soon I would be broke with nothing to show but a bunch of really crazy, incredible memories.
I would allow enough money to travel back home. And not breathe a word of it to anyone.
And some day when I am very old I will quietly tell my grandchildren about it. Everyone would tell them that their grandpa is a little nutty and the story is just imagined.
Lol.
My second plan would be much tougher … but I would only need it if the big win of money was not a secret.
I'll emigrate to the deep north. Alaska, North Canada, North Scandinavia or Siberia. Away from people, will live in silence and peace. :)

Pay off dept and then go bat**** crazy at Vario's online shop then spend the rest on hiring someone with experience to tutor me/co-build the models, all before I regain my senses and do something clever with the money.

You, sir, have the style I like. What use is there to being rich if you don't don't interesting stuff you could not ordinarily do?

Dam straight. When I was a teenager I was employed on a crew in a remote camp. It was the summer of 1974. I made $13 a day. Each person would work a week with the cook washing dishes, peeling veggies etc. She was a old woman. Firm, direct and smart too. Dead honest, all the time.
One day I was taking about having million dollars and she smiled at me and stopped working. We sat for a spell (and had a smoke) and she told me that rich people are rich regardless of the amount of money they have. The rest of us think differently. I must have looked puzzled so she explained.
"What would you do if if you had a dollar?"
I told her I would spend it. "
And what if you had 10 dollars?"
I spend that too.
"And if you had 100 dollars?"
I saw where her questions were going to I disputed that a MILLION dollars was way more money than I could spend like smaller sums.
She smiled at me again and explained that her husband was a miner and had hit a big payoff 5 years previous that netted over a million dollars. She was serious. And now they had paid off most of their equipment and set aside money for the kid's educations, but other than that they were broke. They had spent it all. She said that she knew if they made another million they would spend that too. She said unless I was a rich person without money I would just spend what ever money I came my way.
She said.
"Rich people think differently, they don't just spend money, they make it grow.
That's why they are rich."
